Elder’s Meditation Of The Day

My Creator, remove from me today all resentment, anger, fear, guilt and selfishness. Do not let my weaknesses stand in the way of my usefulness to You. Make me a hollow bone so Your power can flow through me.

The Daily Feast

The Daily Feast “We are called hollow bones for our people and for anyone else we can help, and we are not supposed to seek power for our personal use and honor.”

–Fools Crow, LAKOTA

In order for us to use our power well, we must become a hollow bone. We must prepare ourselves to become a channel. Our channel must be clean before we can use our power well. We must be free of resentments, guilt, shame, anger, self pity, and fear. If these things are in us, we cannot be hollow bones. These things block us from our power. The cleaner we are, the more power we move. We must become a hollow bone so the Creator can use us to do what he wants us to do.

Think Of These Things

Think Of These Things

Gentleness has amazing strength. Where some will dominate others are sweet and compassionate and this gives us HOPE! A gentle person is like cool clear water on a hot day- a refreshing change from hostile attitudes of apathy. How many time we met someone we wanted to admire but couldn’t! They would not trust us to see beyond their protective walls. Caring and friendship was bitterly needed but somehow ignored. To understand these things makes us gentle. It give us the touch we need with every age. Young and old yearn to hear a voice tell them they are so important, so loved, that nothing can make us turn from them. A gentle word is warm sunshine to every heart. A touch that is never forgotten. Truly there is a pleasant sky above our heads this day. There is not a cloud to darken it. I hear nothing but pleasant words.

A PLEA FOR HEALING

There are moments when wellness escapes us,
moments when pain and suffering
are not dim possibilities
but all to agonizing realities.
At such moments we must open ourselves to healing.

Much we can do for ourselves;
and what we can do
we must do —
healing,
no less than illness,
is participatory.

But even when we do all we can do
there is
often,
still much left to be done.
And so we turn as well to our healers
seeking their skill to aid in our we struggle for wellness.

But even when they do all they can do
there is,
often,
still much left to be done.
And so we turn to Life,
to the vast Power of Being that animates the Universe
as the ocean animates the wave,
seeking to let go of that which blocks our healing.

May those
whose lives are gripped in the pain of suffering
open
even now
to the Wonder of Life.
May they let go of the hurt
and Meet the True Self beyond pain,
the Uncarved Block
that is our joyous Unity with Holiness.

May they discover through pain and torment
the strength to live with grace and humor.
May they discover through doubt and anguish
the strength to live with dignity and holiness.
May they discover through suffering and fear
the strength to move toward healing.

Today’s Positive Thought-Affirmation and Visualization

You have and are already creating your reality and as you continue to grow and blossom through time your reality can change if you will it to be so and will it to be true.

Today’s Positive Thought

Creating a new reality is easy. See it. Think it.
Feel it. Believe it.

Today’s Positive Affirmation

Today, I choose to focus the power of my thoughts,
imagination, feeling, and beliefs ONLY on those
things I desire to create, refusing to add any more
energy to the old patterns I wish to dissolve.

Today’s Positive Visualization

I take an even breath and allow myself to experience
the Divine Spirit that dwells within me. I celebrate
the gift of creation as I connect to the unlimited
blessings God/ess has in store for me. I affirm the power
of my consciousness and my right to choose the realities
I experience. With determination, I focus my attention
on those things that I want to experience and away from
those things that no longer serve me. I remind myself
that I and I alone choose my thoughts, words, feelings,
visions, and actions. For a few moments I imagine the
life I desire. In my mind’s eye, I see myself experiencing
the health, prosperity, success, and peace I want. I
combine these images with joy and let them go in spirits hands, knowing
that they will create the good things I am visualizing
and thinking.

Unfortunately, most
people are using the powers of creation to create what
they don’t want instead of what they do want! Creation is
your divine birthright and you can obtain your goals, needs, desires and new realities. Think it , create, it, desire it, feel it, visualize it and affirm it. Make sure your reality is what you really need and want. Use your creation for aspirations and use it  consistently and use it well.

4 Troops- Memorial Day Rememberence

These soldiers are wonderful and I can’t think of a better time then to post this on memorial day. I just love it and well seek out and try to buy their album. I love their voices. A very worthy reason to buy a CD.

Just A Common Soldier
by A. Lawrence Vaincourt

He was getting old and paunchy and his hair was falling fast,
And he sat around the Legion, telling stories of the past
Of a war that he had fought in and the deeds that he had done,
In his exploits with his buddies; they were heroes, every one

And tho’ sometimes, to his neighbors, his tales became a joke,
All his Legion buddies listened, for they knew whereof he spoke
But we’ll hear his tales no longer for old Bill has passed away,
And the world’s a little poorer, for a soldier died today

He will not be mourned by many, just his children and his wife,
For he lived an ordinary and quite uneventful life
Held a job and raised a family, quietly going his own way,
And the world won’t note his passing, though a soldier died today

When politicians leave this earth, their bodies lie in state,
While thousands note their passing and proclaim that they were great.
Papers tell their whole life stories, from the time that they were young,
But the passing of a soldier goes unnoticed and unsung

Is the greatest contribution to the welfare of our land
A guy who breaks his promises and cons his fellow man?
Or the ordinary fellow who, in times of war and strife,
Goes off to serve his Country and offers up his life?

A politician’s stipend and the style in which he lives
Are sometimes disproportionate to the service that he gives.
While the ordinary soldier, who offered up his all,
Is paid off with a medal and perhaps, a pension small

It’s so easy to forget them for it was so long ago
That the old Bills of our Country went to battle, but we know
It was not the politicians, with their compromise and ploys,
Who won for us the freedom that our Country now enjoys

Should you find yourself in danger, with your enemies at hand,
Would you want a politician with his ever-shifting stand?
Or would you prefer a soldier, who has sworn to defend
His home, his kin and Country and would fight until the end?

He was just a common soldier and his ranks are growing thin,
But his presence should remind us we may need his like again.
For when countries are in conflict, then we find the soldier’s part
Is to clean up all the troubles that the politicians start

If we cannot do him honor while he’s here to hear the praise,
Then at least let’s give him homage at the ending of his days
Perhaps just a simple headline in a paper that would say,
Our Country is in mourning, for a soldier died today.
