The Daily Feast- Ignoring Common Sense

In retrospect, we have ignored common sense in favor of doing what we wanted to do. We wish we had not done it, but we said what we wanted to say, spoke out when it would have been better to stay quiet – we have overruled our common sense. Looking back again, when did we get off track? What little thing stung us into action? If we learn to hear the voice of wisdom we can overcome our foolishness. Wisdom never lets us down, but ignoring it will put away from us the best friend we can have.

Think Of These Things- New Years Resolutions

A new galaxy of shining promises made to oneself are resolutions made with the utmost faith that self is listening and will carry out the plans. But self is inpredictable as a child playing in the street; it may dart in any direction according to the mood and to wharever catches its attention.

At the first sign of a challenge, self may bck and lean hard upon the old ways of doing things, no how wrong it may be. Resolutons do very little to change a way of living. Tehy are easily made and easily forgotten. There may be a sincere desire to keep a resolutio, but if self has not changed inwardly, little can depend on the outward change. It is said that we promise according to our hopes and perform according to our selfhsiness. Failure ot keep our promises to others is a disappointment, but failure within oneself is disaster. A little peformance is worth a host of promises on nay day that starts a new year.

Today my mind is filled with perfect, beautiful,
and pure thoughts.

Today’s Positive Visualization

In my mind’s eye I see myself surrounded with high
thoughts. I imagine that these thoughts are penetrating
my mind and consciousness. I see these thoughts reflected
in my daily life. Perfection, beauty, and purity are
manifesting in my life. For a moment I imagine what my
life is like as these thoughts create a new reality for
me. I combine these images with the feelings of joy and
let them go, knowing that they will create the good things
I am visualizing and thinking.

What Is The Essence Of True Courage

Courage “

QUESTION: What does “courage” have to do with being a person of good
character…with someone who stays true to their principles and their values?

ANSWER: EVERYTHING!

You see, being values-driven means two things:

Doing what’s right – following our conscience; refusing to compromise our
principles, despite pressures and temptations to the contrary, and

Taking a stand against what’s wrong – speaking out, whenever we see others do
things that are incorrect or inappropriate.

Unquestionably, both of those require guts and fortitude…they require courage.

 

Courage is…

Following your conscience instead of “following the crowd”.
Refusing to take part in hurtful or disrespectful behaviors.
Sacrificing personal gain for the benefit of others.
Speaking your mind even though others don’t agree.
Taking complete responsibility for your actions…and your mistakes.
Following the rules – and insisting that others do the same.
Challenging the status quo in search of better ways.
Doing what you know is right- regardless of the risks and potential
consequences.

I’d like to share the “Cadet Prayer” that is repeated during chapel services at
the U.S. Military Academy:

“Make us to choose the harder right instead of the easier wrong, and never to be
content with a half truth when the whole truth can be won. Endow us with the
courage that is born of loyalty to all that is noble and worthy, that scorns to
compromise with vice and injustice and knows no fear when truth and right are in
jeopardy.”

That is truly the essence of courage.

Allow Your Own Inner Light To Guide You


There comes a time when you must stand alone.You must feel confident enough within yourself to follow your own dreams.You must be willing to make sacrifices.

You must be capable of changing and rearranging your priorities so that your final goal can be achieved.

Sometimes, familiarity and comfort need to be challenged.

There are times when you must take a few extra chances and create your own realities.

Be strong enough to at least try to make your life better.

Be confident enough that you won’t settle for a compromise just to get by.

Appreciate yourself by allowing yourself the opportunities to grow, develop, and find your true sense of purpose in this life.

Don’t stand in someone else’s shadow when it’s your sunlight that should lead the way.

Healing Meditation

One way to meditate is to use your visualization of the meditation. If you are having problems with doing this then… I suggest you tape the meditation then play it back to gain the correct balance and spiritual awakening that you require.

Please try this meditation to relax and heal the body mind and soul.

Sit in a comfortable position

Start to imagine that your body is slowly filling with light, starting from the feet and slowly moving upwards

As the light is moving up your body —– feel that this light is relaxing the muscles ,your mind ,body and spirit.

Now imagine that any areas of disease or pain in your body is surrounded by a dark shadow which represents the unhealthy area.

Feel the light moving upwards until my entire body is filled with light and every muscle of my body is feeling relaxed.

Now feel that your body of light is radiating the light out from your eyes, the light is shining as if a torch is shinning out from your eyes.

Now feel that you are directing the light towards any area of the body that is giving you pain or discomfort, represented as a shadow on your body.

Feel that you are sending extra light to this area that is in pain or discomfort.

Imagine that the diseased or painful areas have dark shadows surrounding it.

Now feel that you are shinning a loving healing light to the diseased or painful areas so that the darkness is removed.

I radiate my shining light to my body and fill my bodies with this warm healing light.

I now radiate this healing light to the world.

I begin to feel that this healing light is returning me to health and vitality

Perfect health is available to me now.

This meditation can be used for physical or emotional pain. In order to be physically healthy one has to free their mind and get rid of excess emotional baggage.
