Upon Each Samhain

Happy Samhain

This is one of my favorite poems.

Upon Each Samhain

I miss you most upon each Samhain
When the boundary turns to sheer
I wait until the veil is parted
At the ending of the year.

Samhain

Sweet spirit, as you walk among us
At the tolling of this eve
I see your face beyond the sunset
And hear your voice upon the breeze.

In the glowing of the candle,
From the shadow on the wall
I watch for you in every movement
And hear your footsteps in the hall.

samhain

Can you sit and spend the evening
As the portal opens wide?
Ancestral dead, I bid you welcome
Most recent dead, I pray, abide.
When you come I sense your presence

Happy Samhain

I put my hand out in the air
A moment, then, we stand united
Palm to palm while waiting there.
I miss you most upon each Samhain
When the boundary turns to sheer
We share these hours until the dawning
Then bid farewell until next year.

Elders Meditation Of The Day-Harmony In All Things

“It’s very hard to do things in the right manner, but as long as we do things
right, we are in turn with the Great Spirit.”

–Rolling Thunder, CHEROKEE

When we are right with the Great Spirit, we are right with all things. It is
impossible to be out of harmony with anything or anybody when we are in harmony
with the Great One. So, if during the day a problem crops up and someone makes
us mad, the best thing we can do is talk to the Creator first, ask for His help,
then continue our conversation with the other person. In this way, our emotional
nature will keep aligned with our thoughts, and we will always stay right with
the Great Spirit.

Great Spirit, I
ask You to
guide me on
the Red Road
today.

The Daily Feast- Our History Is Our Fight & Sacred

These are no longer ordinary times, and many circumstances we thought would never change, are changing. The innocent times, the good natured humor of life has been covered over with suggestive jokes empty of meaning.

The ground is shifting under our feet and we are having to learn to walk a new way. Few things are permanent. We are born of change, but we still have to keep a commonsenseattitude or we can lose our footing.

We need to prove, long before we accept something as fact, that it is true. If it is right, it can be proved.

Much is a mystery to us. But to the Tsilagi – Cherokee – silence is golden. We speak little and listen long. Words are important in songs and in ceremonies – and in general conversation as well. It is wise to save words and use them only when they can be effective.

Today’s Positive Thought-Affirmation & Visualization- Choose Higher Thoughts

TODAY’S POSITIVE THOUGHT:

You can choose to think higher thoughts.

TODAY’S POSITIVE AFFIRMATION:

I choose higher thoughts therefore creating a
better world for myself and others

TODAY’S POSITIVE VISUALIZATION:

As I close my eyes I am thankful for my right to
choose my thoughts. Acknowledging the power of my
thoughts in creating the reality I experience, I
consciously choose to think higher thoughts. I
imagine myself remembering to be aware of my thoughts
and easily choosing high thoughts. I see myself
experiencing the benefit of my new higher thoughts.
In my mind’s eye I see myself enjoying love and harmony
in my relationships; health and energy in my physical body;
success and prosperity in my financial and business
affairs; safety and protection everywhere I go; and a deep
sense of peace as I stay consciously connected to the Divine
within me. I combine these images with the feelings of joy
and let them go,knowing that they will create the good
things I am visualizing and thinking.

Elders Meditation Of The Day- Stay Connected To Mother Earth

“We grieve more because we have been disconnected from our earth, our first
Mother, our spiritual Mother.”

~Larry P. Aitken, CHIPPEWA~

Where does all life come from? The Earth. Where does everything return to? The
Earth. Where do values come them? The Earth. Many people are lost because they
don’t know the importance of connection to the Earth. They connect to money, to
relationships, to success, to goals. When we are disconnected from the Earth, we
have feelings of being sad or lost. When we are connected to the Earth, we feel
warm and secure.

Great Spirit,
help me to stay
connected to
the Mother
Earth.

Elders Meditation Of The Day

“To be able to greet the sun with the sounds from all of Nature is a
great blessing, and it helps us to remember Who is the real provider of
all of our benefits.”|

–Thomas Yellowtail, CROW

The Elders say we should pray to the East every morning. Just try
it! Get up early in the morning, watch the sun and listen to the morning
sounds, the birds, the winds; smell the air, feel the breeze and the warmth of
the sun. Your mid will expand and you will experience oneness with the Great
Spirit. You’ll realize who is really in charge. You’ll realize an
interconnectedness. You’ll realize how much the Creator loves you! Just try it!

Great Spirit,
today,let me feel
the Earth,
the Father Sun
and your presence.

The Daily Feast

Homecoming is not just a certain hour but a feeling, an attitude, an an na li –
a friend. One phase of the day has been completed, so now back to the reasons for it – home.

Home with its familiar fragrances, its lighted warmth and peace of mind. At least, home ought to be this way – though it isn’t always. Too little time, too much weariness, too many complaints. Too little, too late, too bad. Real homecoming is a state of mind. Someone needs to be comforted, someone needs a gentle touch, someone needs to think of others. It may not be perfect, but working together makes homecoming a celebration.

~ Do not touch the money of the white man or his clothes. We do not fight for
these things. The Seminole is fighting for his hunting grounds. ~
