Elders Meditation Of The Day

“To be able to greet the sun with the sounds from all of Nature is a
great blessing, and it helps us to remember Who is the real provider of
all of our benefits.”|

–Thomas Yellowtail, CROW

The Elders say we should pray to the East every morning. Just try
it! Get up early in the morning, watch the sun and listen to the morning
sounds, the birds, the winds; smell the air, feel the breeze and the warmth of
the sun. Your mid will expand and you will experience oneness with the Great
Spirit. You’ll realize who is really in charge. You’ll realize an
interconnectedness. You’ll realize how much the Creator loves you! Just try it!

Great Spirit,
today,let me feel
the Earth,
the Father Sun
and your presence.

The Daily Feast

Homecoming is not just a certain hour but a feeling, an attitude, an an na li –
a friend. One phase of the day has been completed, so now back to the reasons for it – home.

Home with its familiar fragrances, its lighted warmth and peace of mind. At least, home ought to be this way – though it isn’t always. Too little time, too much weariness, too many complaints. Too little, too late, too bad. Real homecoming is a state of mind. Someone needs to be comforted, someone needs a gentle touch, someone needs to think of others. It may not be perfect, but working together makes homecoming a celebration.

~ Do not touch the money of the white man or his clothes. We do not fight for
these things. The Seminole is fighting for his hunting grounds. ~

Think Of These Things

Have you heard how dreadful the neighbors are these days to ignore another’s plight, and how the world has gone to the dogs because people don’t care? Have
you heard how hardened hearts are and how callous and unfeeling the human race
has become?

It may be true such things do happen….for we hear about it daily. But it
likely is that we hear more about the unusual then the usual.

For have you heard about the builder who laid his own plans aside to help
another build his house….and the lady who gave her home and nursing care to
someone who had no other place to go. Or the child who found its needs fulfilled
in the love of a foster mother.

We may ignore, but we can never erase the love of the human race for the human
race. The world may abound with sordid happenings; it may revel in senseless
activities. But called to help, the greater number will respond without thought
of the cost to themselves.

Of these things we hear so little. With these we come in contact every day and
accept it as the normal pattern of life….which it is….for each unthinking,
infantile mine there are two great thoughtful ones. And the second great
Commandment still works its wonders in all our lives.

Today’s Positive Thought

No one else can give you the healing that all humans require and need at this point of the universe. As individuals we must heal and together as one world and people we must heal. The universal conscious does not gently ask that humans aspire to one world the cosmic spiritual forces demand it as such from humans of all walks of life. ~ Aris~

What you think affects the whole world. Think responsibly!

Today’s Positive Thought

As you focus on what is good about people, you
enable them to achieve it.

Today’s Positive Affirmation

I easily recognize the goodness in all who I
encounter.

Today’s Positive Visualization

In my mind’s eye I imagine greeting others and
immediately seeing their goodness. I take a moment
to enjoy the beauty of their goodness. As I do this
in my mind’s eye, I affirm the goodness that is also
within me. I imagine myself going through my day with
the goodness in others surrounding me with light and
love. I combine these images with joy and let them go,
knowing that they will create the good things I am
visualizing and thinking.

No one else can dream or hope for you. No one else can think for you or decide for you. You and you alone have the power to change your life and shape it to what you wish it to be. Get the life you love and live it. 😀 Never give up projecting the images of life you want, the results will be fulfilling and satiable.

Elders Meditation Of The Day

Elders Meditation of the Day

“But the great spirit has provided you and me with an opportunity
for study in nature’s university, the forests, the rivers, the mountains, and the animals which include us.”

~Walking Buffalo, STONEY~

What we really need to learn is how to live life. Nature is the
greatest university when we want to learn about balance, harmony, the Natural
Laws and how to live life. But we will never learn unless we spend time in
the “living university.” Nature is full of examples, lessons, and exercises
about life. Nature will help humans learn. Nature will help humans heal. Nature
will help with Medicine, knowledge and healing. The reason our Elders are so
wise is because they have attended the right educational system – nature’s
university.

Great Spirit,
help me
to
become
wise.

The Daily Feast- Forgotten Lessons

Daily Feast

We can’t always gear our lives to the desires of others. And that
doesn’t mean we should be difficult or hard to get along with. It does mean
there is a time to make it easy on ourselves. Take a few easy steps. When life
crowds in, it is time to quit giving the impression of being superhuman. Going
the extra mile has always been important, but we have days when someone else
needs to go that extra mile and give us relief. It is somewhat like breathing –
there’s a time to inhale and a time to exhale.

You hear of us as murderers and thieves. We are not so. If we had more lands to
give you, we would give them, but we have no more.

RED CLOUD – SIOUX CHIEFTAN

When we stop to think, we realize that at one time our main teaching was to be
honorable and just and compassionate. And now, most of our entertainment is
watching someone brings down someone with a degree of innocence. We are free to
hiss and boo what we see and hear, but how many admire such a gift of treachery?
What would it be like to manipulate and generally ruin other people’s lives for
pure entertainment? Who can we really trust or rely on? We can begin with
ourselves. By weeding out past experiences and by forgiving ourselves, we can be
someone that can be trusted. It is a beginning – and a responsibility.

My children, you have forgotten the customs and traditions of your forefathers.

Think Of These Things- Courage Changes Many Things!

There are many fears in he minds of man, but none so subtle, yet so
effectual, as fear of failure.

We are so afraid we’ve been unwise and wasted valuable time and it makes us
wonder how many times we’ve failed those who depended upon us, and how many times we’ve failed ourselves.

Time seems too short to make up and overcome the things long past. It
seems sometimes that opportunities are there and gone before we’ve had time to
make use of them. We condemn ourselves so much for the lack of knowledge when we
most needed it. But if decisions were made on after thought, they might not be
as wise as those made quickly, without time to think.

We should no longer think about past failures, nor give undue thought to our
chances for future ones, but only begin now to do the very best we can.

True failure comes only to those who stop trying, for no age, no time, no place
can stop the person who decides to try one more time. As Frederick William
Farra, English author, has written, “There is only one real failure in life that
is possible, and that is, not to be true to the best ones knows.”

It is written that where there is a will there’s a way. If a desire is sincere
and the results are for the good of everyone, the first giant
steps have already been taken. American clergyman Joel Hawes has been
quoted, “You may be whatever you resolve to be. Determine to be
something in the world, and you will be something – ‘I cannot’ never
accomplishes anything; ‘I will try’ has wrought wonders.”

A positive attitude can be one of the greatest joys to experience. To
begin a day by willing everything good, and meeting any obstacle with
the idea that it has no power, can make some of the most sudden and
drastic changes in anyone’s life.

To be something or someone is one of the strongest desires, but it does not mean
sacrifices of doubt and apprehension and feeling sorry for oneself. It means
standing straighter when it is more comfortable to crawl. It means thinking
positively and speaking good words.

It is said that a great deal of talent is lost in this world for the
want of a little courage. We often think of courage as the kind that
wins wars and braves new fronts. But there is another plain, ordinary
kind of courage that helps us face our everyday problems.

There is a surprising lack of this kind of courage, and it leads us to seek ways
to dodge our responsibilities. It takes a tremendous amount of courage to face
everything and everyone and take a firm stand for what we believe. It takes
courage to admit we have weaknesses and needs that we must overcome. It is a
daily fight to follow the right road when the wrong one looks so smooth. And it
takes courage to believe, when obstacles face us.

Go Forward With Courage

When you are in doubt, be still, and wait;
when doubt no longer exists for you, then go forward with courage.
So long as mists envelop you, be still;
be still until the sunlight pours through and dispels the mists
— as it surely will.
Then act with courage.
